Case of journalist Jan Muhammad Maher murder registered against 11 named and 3 unknown persons

SUKKUR: A case of murder of journalist John Muhammad Maher, who was killed in Sukkur, was registered against 11 named and 3 unknown persons.
According to the police, FIR registered in the complaint filed by the brother of the deceased journalist Jan Muhammad Mehr, the deceased was targeted and killed by influential people whom they were afraid, and he was receiving threats.
Police detained 15 suspects from Sukkur, Shikarpur and Rohri while geo-fencing is also underway.
It should be noted that journalist Jan Muhammad Meher was killed as a result of firing by unknown persons in Sukkur on Sunday.
According to the police, journalist Jan Muhammad Maher was attacked on Queen’s Road on his way home from the office, due to which he was injured.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced one crore rupees for the family members of journalist Jan Mohammad Mehr, who was martyred in the murderous attack in Sukkur.
Pakistan Broadcasters Association has expressed deep grief over the killing of a senior journalist.
The motive behind the attack was not immediately known, but police believe they were killed over an old rivalry.
Apart from this, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists has written a letter to the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, demanding the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for a comprehensive investigation into the murder of the senior journalist.
On the other hand, protests are being held by the journalist community in different areas of Sindh including Sukkur to arrest the killers.
