Citizens in panic as stray dogs rampant in Sukkur

There is no medicine in government hospitals to prevent dog bites. The affected people started buying medicine from the private sector, a wave of concern in the urban circles

SUKKUR: Abundance of stray dogs in Sukkur city, the citizens are forced to live in fear and terror, an innocent girl fell into the sewer due to the fear of dogs, the local residents rescued the girl, there is no medicine in government hospitals to prevent dog bites. The affected people started buying medicine from the private sector, a wave of concern in the urban circles, a strong demand to take notice from the higher authorities. As a result of which the number of stray dogs is increasing in various rural and urban areas of the district including Sukkur, incidents of dog bites are also taking place. When the girl tried to run away to save her life, she fell into the open manhole, which the local residents immediately pulled out from every sewer and chased away the stray dogs. Due to the lack of medicines in hospitals, the affected people are forced to buy medicines from the private sector. There is a wave of deep concern in the civic and social circles of Sukkur due to the lack of dog bite vaccine and not starting a dog killing campaign in the city. Criticizing the Sukkur administration and the health government, citizens have strongly demanded from the higher authorities including the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the issues as to make the lives of the citizens safe.
