Only Govt Civil Hospital in Sukkur lacks facilities for patients

Poor patients are forced to undergo expensive tests from private laboratories due to the inactivity of the laboratory

SUKKUR: Sukkur’s eminent social personality and PTI leader Madam Safia Baloch expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the Civil Hospital even after the visit of the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh to Sukkur. Expressing that it is very regrettable to say that the visit of the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh to Sukkur like the previous ministers has also proved to be futile. In the only government civil hospital established in Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh, the facilities for the patients are becoming extinct. Patients coming for treatment from rural areas do not have any kind of medical facilities in the hospital, even after funding crores of rupees to the civil hospital, modern machinery has been closed for several months, generators are broken, ambulances are standing in the parking lot. Poor patients are forced to undergo expensive tests from private laboratories due to the inactivity of the laboratory, but despite public complaints, the condition of the civil hospital is getting worse instead of improving. They are busy sitting at home and receiving huge salaries which is a threat to the lives of the patients. In the emergency situation, the patients are being referred to the private hospital after giving minor medical aid. The patients have to get medicines from the market. The caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh gave instructions to provide all possible medical facilities to the patients during his visit, but unfortunately, the doctors and staff involved in the corruption of Civil Hospital have also blown his orders. There is a betrayal of the people and we strongly condemn such anti-public action and demand the higher authorities to improve the deteriorating situation of the only public civil hospital in Sukkur, including providing laboratory tests, physical tests and other medical facilities to the patients.
