FIA Sukkur seizes a large number of illegal foreign currency
FIA rounded up 711 accused allegedly involved in the businesses of the hawala-hundi and illegal currency exchange across Pakistan during the past 11 months

SUKKUR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sukkur has confiscated a huge sum of foreign currency worth over Rs1,035,000 from an inter-city passenger bus travelling from Sukkur to Karachi.
Acting on the secret tip off FIA Sukkur, action was taken on the national highway, a large number of illegal international currency was seized.
Deputy Director Hafeez Chachar said during a press conference in his office that the team of FIA Sukkur has seized a large amount of illegal international currency while acting on a tip-off on the national highway. The action was taken on a coach going from Bahalpur to Karachi. According to Deputy Director Hafeez Chacharka, 1 lakh 47 thousand 900 Saudi Riyals, 20 thousand 700 US dollars, 26000 Pakistani rupees have been recovered from the accused. The value in Pakistani rupees is 1 crore 69 lakh 35 thousands rupees. According to the preliminary investigation, the accused are doing illegal business of hawala hundi. A case has been registered against the arrested accused and further investigation is being conducted.
