Sukkur police gear up for secure elections: Detailed Security plan unveiled

SUKKUR: Sukkur Police is leaving nothing to chance in ensuring the safety and security of the upcoming February 8th elections. A comprehensive security plan has been finalized, with a strong focus on protecting polling stations and preventing any disruptions during the voting process.
According to the details of SSP Zubair Nazir Sheikh recognizing potential risks, Sukkur Police has categorized the 643 polling stations across the two national and four provincial assembly seats. 166 polling stations have been designated as “highly sensitive” and 220 as “sensitive,” requiring close monitoring and stricter security measures.
Over 5100 police officers and men will be deployed throughout the district to safeguard polling stations and maintain public order. This substantial force demonstrates the commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure voting environment.
To further strengthen security, Sukkur Police will team up with the Rangers and Pakistan Army. This combined effort will provide additional resources and expertise to manage any potential security threats.
The Election Commission’s code of conduct for candidates will be strictly enforced. All candidates have been advised of the guidelines, and violators will face immediate consequences. This ensures a fair and impartial electoral process.
To prevent violence and intimidation, the carrying or exhibition of any type of weapon will be strictly prohibited on campaign and election day. This measure aims to create a safe and calm atmosphere for voters to exercise their right to vote.
