SUKKUR: Power theft will not be tolerated, SEPCO chief’s raids in Sukkur, hundreds of illegal connections seized, told Amir Shaikh spokesperson Sepco. CEO Sepco suspended SDO, LS and lineman. Power thieves will be fined, he warned, I will conduct surprise raids, CEO. Power thieves and their facilitators even if they were be Sepco employee would not be spared, CEO Saeed Ahmed Dawich hinted.
Sukkur Electric Power Company Chief Executive Officer Saeed Ahmed Dawich on Friday along with SE Sukkur Manzoor Ahmed Soomro and other SEPCO officers conducted surprise raids in different areas of SEPCO sub-division Society and disconnected hundreds of illegal Kunda connections there.
SEPCO staff seizes wires, on this occasion, the CEO SEPCO imposed fine of thousands of rupees on the customers who were involved in stealing electricity. SDO Irfan Soomro, area line superintendent khaleeq ur Rehman Domki and lineman Khalil Domki were suspended by CEO for failing to curb power theft. SEPCO Chief Saeed Ahmed Dawich warned on the occasion that power theft would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Officers and other staff must fix their direction and vowed that he himself would pay surprise visit to check employees performance in power theft controlling.

Not only will action be taken against the power thieves if the theft is caught but also the SEPCO officers and other staff who facilitated it will not be spared, CEO notified. He further said that only thieves were the cause of difficulties for the customers who pay their bills, But now they would not be discounted, CEO warned.
