Federal government reduced Urea prices

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the prices of fertilizers across the country and fixed the prices of urea fertilizers at the official level. The Ministry of Industry and Production has issued a notification to reduce the prices of urea fertilizer.
According to the notification, the price of 50 kg urea fertilizer bag has been reduced to Rs. 389, after which its new retail price has gone down to Rs. 1768. The notification states that the price will be applicable immediately, this price will be effective till July 7, 2022.
The notification clarified that the government was providing subsidy on gas to the fertilizer sector, adding that increase in price of fertilizer on subsidized gas was unjustified.
The notification said that the relief of subsidy should be transferred to the farmers, it was necessary to fix the price to stop profiteering.
