Anti power theft operation in Khairpur could not be successful

SUKKUR: The operation against electricity thieves and defaulters by SEPCO in Khairpur and piryaloi subdivisions could not be successful, the orders given by the federal government and the SEPCO high officials have been blown up by corrupt Engineer , SDOs, LS and linemen, according to very close sources. According to the information, SEPCO’s Khairpur Engineer who is told to be local, and SDOs started an operation against illegal connections in the city’s and Tunia pull feeders. Because of this operation, the previously appointed LSs, meter readers, linemen along with the illegal connections given by the union leaders were getting affected.
According to the sources, in the operation conducted in every neighborhood and street of the city, only the poor class electricity thieves were targeted, while the bungalows owners, saw machines, flour mills, medical centers, laundries, tailors, ice factories and factories. , petrol pumps, hotels have not even seen a glimpse of the operation yet. Sources have also revealed that in the ongoing operation of SEPCO, where SEPCO officials were ordered by the federal government to terminate the network of illegal connections by the electricity thieves as the electricity system in area should be improved.
Corrupt SEPCO officials who have now started giving the illegal connection of three thousand rupees for five thousand rupees and the connection of five thousand rupees for seven thousand rupees in Wapda Scarp Colony, Faizabad Saleemabad, therhi, karamabad, Qazi Koh, Wasrewahan, Esan Bhayo, Bugti village, etc. The corruption rate hikes have prompted calls from local people for a massive probe into SEPCO’s discriminatory operations.
