Crime spree continues in Sukkur: Bakery robbed, concerns mount

SUKKUR:Sukkur is grappling with a surge in crime, culminating in a brazen robbery at a well-known bakery on Minara Road. As per the police report filed by Ali Yasir Ghangro, an unidentified armed individual entered the bakery late at night and made off with Rs. 260,000 in cash at gunpoint.
This incident marks the third major theft in Sukkur within a short span. Following a cloth market robbery and another at the Old Sukkur Janat Building, the bakery attack highlights the growing boldness of criminal elements and poses a stark challenge to the city’s security apparatus.
The audacity of these repeated crimes, seemingly occurring in an unhindered manner, has sparked deep concern among citizens and civil society. The “hat trick” completed by the unknown thieves, as described by Ghangro, has fueled a wave of public anxiety and frustration.
Calls for urgent action from higher authorities are reverberating through the city. Residents and stakeholders are demanding a swift and effective response from the police to curb the rising crime wave and restore a sense of security. The onus is now on authorities to address these concerns head-on, implement robust measures to combat crime, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The recent spate of robberies poses a significant threat to Sukkur’s social and economic well-being. A swift and effective response is crucial to restore public confidence and prevent further escalation of the crime wave. Only then can the city breathe a sigh of relief and embark on a path of secure and prosperous future.
