Drinking water has become scarce in Sukkur

SUKKUR: In the Indus River, the water level has significantly decreased before the Sukkur Barrage and its canals are properly cleaned, due to which the citizens of Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh, are thirsty for water drops. Municipal authorities and other authorities have been asked to take notice of the alarming water situation.
In the Indus River, the water level has decreased significantly even before the Sukkur Barrage and its canals have been properly cleaned, due to which the citizens of Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh, have been thirsty for a drop of water.
Sukkur barrage and the seven canals coming out of it, Rohri Canal, Nara Canal, Khairpur East Canal, Khairpur West Canal, Dadu Canal, Rais Canal and Kher Thar Canal are in progress.
Even before the cleaning of the canals coming out of Sukkur Barrage and the repair of all the gates of the barrage, there is a significant decrease in the water level in the Indus River due to which drinking water has also become scarce in the city.
Due to the low level of water in the Indus River, there has been a severe shortage of water in various areas of Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh, while drinking contaminated water has also increased epidemics.
Due to the lack of clean water supply in the city, citizens are forced to fetch water from remote areas through hand pumps. The citizens have demanded the Sindh government to take notice of the matter.
The citizens of Sukkur have demanded the government of Sindh, municipal authorities and other authorities to take notice of the alarming water situation.
