Taking motorcycles, mobile phones, cash, and killing people during incidents have become commonplace in Karachi. In the year 2022, more than 82 thousand 700 incidents have taken place in different areas of Karachi. At the beginning of the year 2023, more than 1,000 people have lost their motorcycles, cars, mobile phones, cash and other valuables. In Ayub Goth area of Sohrab Goth police station of Karachi East, robbers broke the locks of Sultan Nunari’s shop and took away 1.75 million rupees in cash and mobile phones. But the arrest has not been made for 6 days only because the police officers are unable to protect the complainant. According to the complainant, now the accused is on the run, the complainant told that he had requested AIG East Javed Alam Odhu and SSP Abdul Rahim Shirazi that the accused involved in the incident has been 100% identified and the police should act on the confidential informant of complainant so that they can avoid any trouble in the future, but the custodians of the said law, avoided to act accordingly. The said complainant was a victim of robbery along with his son some time ago but he had given up.
Karachi Police and peace-keeping organizations should provide security to the public and act on secret identification and provide protection to the victims including children so that after the incident the victims fear to save their lives instead of getting back their looted valuables.
