Excise Sukkur allegedly envolve in smuggling illegal goods

SUKKUR: The Excise and Taxation Department inspectors and officers have made the citizens angry because of the public sale of alcohol in different areas of the city, they have continued to supply alcohol to Muslim people, especially children. Most of the excise officials are looking busy at various checkpoint, coaches, buses, trucks and other vehicles going from Sukkur to Karachi and are engaged in extortion.
Goods are being transferred in vehicles going from Sukkur to Karachi, while it is easy to smuggle illegal goods, instead of protecting the public, Excise officers are anti-human. It also has been found to be equally complicit, the excise officer at Sukkur’s toll plaza has found to send illegal goods and drug smuggling going on.
Bus owners, who did not reveal his name, made serious accusations. He further said that in the evenings, the smuggling goods are being easily transported to Karachi in coaches, buses, trucks, trailers and other vehicles going from Sukkur to Karachi. A huge allowance is provided to the inspectors on the basis of which lacs of rupees are paid for the posting in food at various posts and also on the basis of political recommendation. The excise department inspector and police personnel stopped every trailer, coach, bus and justified it. Under the pretext of stopping and checking, they charge for wasting time, due to which the driver walks with money in his hands before stopping each vehicle. This is our country’s drug prevention excise police. The official in uniforms and of the truck drivers there are frequent disputes due to transactions and demand of large amounts of money. If the Excise and Taxation Department is fixed, there will not be so much unrest in the country.
