KHAIRPUR: Consul General of Indonesia, Dr. John Konkoro Hadinengrat, has said that Indonesia wants to further promote trade and economic relations with Pakistan. It is necessary to promote cooperation between the business community. My visit to Sukkur is also for the same purpose. He expressed these views while talking to the honorable members and the media on the occasion of his visit to the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). Consul Expert Economic Affairs Ahmed Safyan and others were present, Indonesia’s Consul General Dr. John Konkoro Hadinengrat suggested to the participants to improve Pakistan-Indonesia trade that the two countries should focus on the exchange of commodities such as corn, Wheat, flour, rice, unprocessed tobacco, fresh fruits, nuts, ready-made garments, finished and semi-finished leather, fish and fish products, cotton fabrics, surgical goods, etc. while also increasing bilateral trade in Halal food industry because there is great potential.
He advised the business community to compile a list of products that have the potential to increase bilateral trade. We strongly believe that Indonesia will be a huge market with huge potential for Pakistani products and businessmen should focus on these countries to increase trade and exports. The Indonesian government is always keen to help business people. That is why the Embassy of Indonesia in Islamabad and the Consulate in Karachi are extensively engaged in identifying opportunities and providing facilities to the businessmen of both countries. Advised them to attend trade fairs and meet regularly with Indonesian businessmen and send trade delegations so that the Indonesian business community can become aware of business opportunities.
Considering the experience and expertise of the Pakistani business community, he believes that once you meet your Indonesian counterparts, you will be able to convince 80 percent of them to take advantage of trade and investment opportunities. The Consul General of Indonesia, Dr. John Konkoro Hadenengrat, has expressed his determination to further strengthen bilateral trade relations with Pakistan, saying that the Indonesia-Pakistan portal has been developed to connect the business community of both countries with each other because Communication between Indonesian and Pakistani youth and young entrepreneurs is of great importance.
