Kunda system reigns in different areas of Bunder road, New Pind, & Township

SUKKUR: SEPCO sub-division Bunder road, Society subdivision and Subdivision 6 failed to stop electricity theft, the rule of Kunda system in different areas of Achar galee, Miani road, Arif Builder, and New Pind areas , SEPCO employees are silent spectators in return for bribes, the burden of theft has been put on the customers who pay the bills, consumers are worried, to take notice from SEPCO chief and others.
According to the details, tall claims are being made by the Sukkur Electric Power Company to stop electricity theft and the operation is also going fast, but unfortunately, the staff and officers of the relevant sub-divisions in different areas of Sukkur instead of stopping electricity theft they play role of facilitator in power theft against the monthly bribe of of millions rupees. In different areas of New Pind, Bashirabad , Achar galee SEPCO staff have laid a joint network with private electrification, after which, under the Kunda system, Rs.1,000 to Rs. 5000 charged for each and every household. The department is being cheated of millions of rupees by accepting a bribe of Rs.1000 per month and the whole burden is being hidden by putting extra units on the bill-paying customers through deduction bills. Reportedly tens of thousands of units are being stolen per month through installing bogus meters at different pools of these areas. Consumers have demanded to Director FIA, CEO SEPCO to take departmental action against the staff including prevention of electricity theft to free the consumers from extra units and deduction bills.
While SEPCO chief Saeed Ahmed Dawich SEPCO has also taken strict administrative action against its officials who were found to be complicit in the power theft. In this regards SDO Society Khaleeq Domki and 2 other officials suspended founding involved in power theft in the township area. CEO has also strongly warned the concerned SDO to take stern action against power theft and impose heavy fines on the consumers involved in the theft.
