SUKKUR: Justice Arshad Hussain Khan and Justice Amjad Ali Sehto heard the petitions on Tuesday filed against the occupation of millions of acres of forest land in Sindh.
During the hearing, the NAB presented a report against the occupation of forest lands in Sindh, but the court also expressed dissatisfaction over the report.
On this occasion Justice Amjad Ali Sehto while giving remarks said that I have been here for nine months and in this regard only report is being presented on report so far no meaningful result of action has come out.
In Sindh, illegal occupants had illegally possessed the forest department land more than 2.8 million acres of land, but no significant action has been taken against them, he said.
Justice further said that deforestation is having a detrimental effect on the environment and in recent days the temperature has reached 50 degrees celsius.
Everyone knows occupiers are influential but the government and institutions are not ready to take action against them. Following these remarks of Justice Amjad Ali Sehto, hearing on petitions was adjourned till July 6.
