PhD open defense seminar held in the institute of computer science

KHAIRPUR: The Ph. D Open Defense Seminar was held in the Institute of Computer Science, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor. Ph. D Research Scholar Mr. Mashooque Ali Mahar, Assistant Professor, Institute of Computer Science defended his research on the topic “Information Retrieval System of Sindhi Language Using Data Mining Techniques: Pattern Discovery and Probabilistic Modeling” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Mahar, Director Institute of Computer Science.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that the research work of the scholar will help in the promotion of Sindhi language at institutional level. The work of the research scholar will pave the way for the future scholars as well as for the soft image of the Institute of Computer Science. Dr. Ibupoto said we are providing ample research opportunities to our scholars.
Mr. Mashooque Ali Mahar said many of the research studies are available for Sindhi language. This study helps the researchers related to information retrieval and human language especially Sindhi speakers to find their problem solutions effectively along with the ranking of the documents to identify the correct and more relevant material. The information in the form of Sindhi documents will be available easily.
Prof. Dr. Qasid Hussain Mallah, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences acknowledged the research work presented by the scholar. He appreciated the academic and research interest of incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who is sparing his precious time to witness the proceedings on regular basis.
Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Mahar, Director Institute of Computer Science and Research Supervisor said that many of the languages possess their information retrieval systems so the Sindhi information retrieval has been proposed and presented in this dissertation by the scholar in befitting manner.
Research Experts Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Abro, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah and Prof. Dr. Dill Nawaz Hakro from University of Sindh, Jamshoro also spoke on this occasion They said that the work of the research scholar is worthy for presentation in the field of Information & Communication Technology.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of the seminar. The Open Defense Seminar was declared as successful. A large number of teachers and research scholars attended the seminar.
