News Desk
KARACHI: Qatar will install the world’s largest plant to produce blue ammonia gas. It will cost USD 1.2 billions and it will start production in 2026. Qatar Energy, the state-owned energy company in Qatar, has said that the plant will produce 12 lakh tons of ammonia gas annually, after which it will become the world’s largest gas producing plant. Al-Kaabi said that the use of ammonia as a fuel is increasing, after which the need for carbon dioxide emission is also increasing. Blue ammonia is made primarily from hydrogen from natural gas and nitrogen from the air and does not emit carbon when burned.
