SALUTA demands problems solution of faculty members

KHAIRPUR: Shah Abdul Latif University administration collects more than 2 billion rupees annually, but the financial bills and allowances of the teachers have been stopped. Director Finance Nisar Ahmad Nunari did not solve the problems of the teachers in the Saluta meeting. The first meeting of the newly elected body of the Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Association Saluta was held, in which the problems of the faculty/teachers and the proposed solutions were discussed. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali , General Secretary Dr. Hussamuddin Shaikh conducted the proceedings of the meeting. In the meeting, serious concern was expressed over the deteriorating financial affairs of the institution and matters related to the Registrar/Finance Office. The attitudes and injustices of Director Finance Nisar Ahmad Nunari and others were pointed out, concern was expressed over the continuous delay in passing the long pending faculty allowance, part-time, medical and legitimate bills of the teachers/faculty. To ensure the immediate payment of 160% leave encashment, difference of orderly allowance, merit allowance and salary protection of newly appointed teachers, it was reported in the meeting that due to the attitude of the university administration, uneasiness has arisen among the teachers. In the meeting, the director of finance and the registrar’s office were urged to refrain from being part of the administration’s actions against the teachers, and all the departments of the university should be automated on an emergency basis. The members criticized further and said that the administration is collecting 2 billion rupees annually from the relevant colleges and departments of the university and issuing various certificates, but the faculty is indifferent to its use and the teachers are facing an unusual situation in their fields. According to the code of conduct, a meeting of the constitutional bodies should be called so that the budget and other matters can be resolved. They demanded that the part-time should be increased as per Sindh University.
