Street crime and target killing increases in Sukkur division

SUKKUR: Bandits became rampant in the Sukkur city and fews hours before two armed men deprived a shopkeeper of old Sukkur from two mobile phones and fifty thousand rupees.

While in Khairpur 10-year-old girl died due to alleged torture in Ranipur area, and was buried without post-mortem. When the video of the alleged torture of the girl went viral on social media, then police took action.
Taking notice of the incident, DIG Sukkur Javed Jaskani suspended the SHO for negligence and formed an inquiry committee, the police arrested the main accused Asad Shah and registered a case on the complaint of her mother.
SSP Khairpur says that the SHO who tried to suppress the matter and the doctor who gave the wrong report have also been arrested.
According to the latest report of the Crime Index, to monitor the crime situation in Sukkur division ,In 2023, there was an eight percent increase in street crime and a fifteen percent increase in mobile phone theft over the previous year.
While target killings increased by more than four percent and car lifting incidents by more than thirty-five percent. While home robberies increased by 14.6% .
