SUKKUR: In a decisive move to ensure fair and peaceful elections, Divisional Commissioner Sukkur, Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, chaired a crucial meeting on Thursday. Held at the Commissioner’s Office, the session marked the beginning of a series of district-level discussions focused on bolstering security arrangements for the upcoming general elections.
The meeting delved into a comprehensive review of existing security plans and election arrangements. Recognizing the significance of voter safety, Commissioner Abbasi emphasized the need for “foolproof security measures” across the entire Sukkur division. He reaffirmed the fundamental right of all citizens to vote in a calm and secure environment.
To achieve this objective, meticulous planning was emphasized, particularly concerning the secure delivery of election materials. Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Hameed Khoso was instructed to finalize comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with utmost urgency. These SOPs, Commissioner Abbasi stressed, must strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s code of conduct, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.
Beyond security measures, the meeting also underscored the importance of fostering a conducive environment for political activities. Open and peaceful political discourse was deemed crucial for a successful election.
This high-level meeting signifies Sukkur’s proactive approach to ensuring a secure and democratic election process. By meticulously planning security measures and fostering a peaceful atmosphere, the authorities aim to empower citizens to exercise their right to vote freely and fairly.
