Sukkur lawyers demonstrated against water shortage in Sind
Those who pay extra charges get water and others remain deprived of their share

SUKKUR: Scores of lawyers held demonstration here on Wednesday as a protest against the non-availability of water in various canals of Sukkur barrage. Lawyers Sardar Qurban Kalwar, Advocate Babar Shafique, Advocate Jamal Nasir Bullo and others , spoke on the occasion.
Speaking to Indus News. One on the occasion, Sardar Qurban Kalwar criticized the Sind Government and said Govt was not ready to solve problems of the growers. They said that following shortage of water in various minors and canals, a vast area has been rendered barren and growers were facing economic crisis.
On the other hand, reports revealed that the canal officials had enforced their own warabandi system and they were not providing water according to the official warabandi. “Those who pay extra charges get water and others remain deprived of their share,” report said.
