Sukkur Police gear up for General Elections with Flag marches

Dr Abdul Waheed Mastoi
SUKKUR: With the upcoming General Elections on February 8th drawing closer, the Sukkur Police are actively engaged in ensuring a secure and peaceful environment for the electoral process. One key tactic being employed is the flag march, a visible display of police presence in sensitive areas across the district.
Inspector Farhan Sarwar, a spokesperson for the DIG office in Sukkur, highlighted the collaborative efforts underway. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the election code of conduct, outlining guidelines for a fair and ethical campaign. Additionally, the government has imposed a ban on weapon displays and celebratory firing under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Ensuring compliance with these regulations is a top priority for the Sukkur Police.
The flag marches serve a dual purpose. They showcase the police force’s readiness to maintain law and order, deterring potential disruptions and intimidation tactics. Additionally, these marches reassure voters, creating a sense of security and encouraging them to exercise their right to vote without fear.
By actively implementing these measures, the Sukkur Police are sending a clear message: they are committed to upholding the law, safeguarding the electoral process, and ensuring a peaceful and successful election for all citizens. The flag marches represent a visible symbol of this commitment, and they are likely to play a crucial role in achieving a smooth and secure voting experience for everyone in Sukkur.
