Sukkurs gambling booms under police bribery, sparking outrage
Gambling dens operate openly, flouting the law with impunity.

SUKKUR: A deafening silence bought with bribes paid to Sukkur police has allowed Akra Perchi’s gambling business to flourish unhindered. On city streets, in Akra Perchi’s alleys, and behind closed doors, crores of rupees are gambled daily. This rampant illegal activity, exacerbated by police negligence, is corrupting youth and children. A wave of alarm is sweeping through the city, prompting urgent calls for intervention from higher authorities.
The unbridled rise of gambling and other social evils is a direct consequence of police apathy and carelessness. Gambling dens operate openly, flouting the law with impunity. This brazen disregard for regulations has sparked outrage among city residents, who have vehemently criticized the Sukkur Police.
To combat this plague and protect the future generation, residents are demanding decisive action from the highest echelons of power. Urgent appeals have been sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief of Army Staff, President of Pakistan, Caretaker Prime Minister, Caretaker Home Minister, Caretaker Governor Sindh, Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, and IG Sindh. The city’s elected representatives are also facing mounting pressure to eradicate social evils and safeguard the city’s youth.
