Taj Haider call for extensive Agri planning to cope water shortage in Country
"The economy will face more difficulties if the situation is not addressed,"

SUKKUR: Member of the Core Committee of Pakistan People’s Party Senator Taj Haider on Monday called for suitable and vivid planning for agriculture in different areas of the country to cope the shortage of irrigation water in country. In a Press conference here at National Press Club Sukkur, the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian said that the cotton crop which which once figured 14 million bales has gone down to 6 million bales due to its low profitability and shifting to other cash crops like Rice which’s sowing had been increased in different areas of Punjab province without any prior planning which is the major cause of water shortage in country. He said various crops in the farmlands of Sindh would be damaged if the situation of water shortage persisted.
“The economy will face more difficulties if the situation is not addressed,” he added. Harder also praised the Imran’ step to contact masses rather than to use the shoulder of establishment to remain in power. No any one country become prosper by foreign aid but it is possible only when country’s GDP improved, he added. PP general Secretary Sukkur city Dr Arshad Mughal, President Bari Committee Khadim Malik and others were present on the occasion.
