Trade bodies announces strike if GST on electricity are not lifted

SUKKUR: A meeting of Sukkur Small Traders was held at Tajar Secretariat Gold Center Sarafa Bazar in connection with the protest against sales tax levied in electricity bills under the chairmanship of President Sukkur Small Traders Haji Muhammad Javed Memon. Haji Ghulam Shabir Bhutto, Haji Abdul Sattar Rajput, Raees Qureshi, Abdul Qadir Shivani, Hafiz Muhammad Sharif Dada, Babu Farooqui, Abdul Bari Ansari, Muhammad Munir Memon, Muhammad Kashif Shamsi, Javed Khoso, Mukhtiar Shami, Muhammad Rizwan Qadri, Dr. Saeed Awan, Sadaqat Khan, Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Shoaib, Imdad Jhandir, Zakir Khan, Ayaz Ali Abro, Hub Ali, Muhammad Naveed Khan and others participated.
In the meeting, through a video link, the President of the Central Organization of Trade Unions of Pakistan, Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry and other officials were also consulted in connection with the protest. On this occasion, it has been decided that there will be a strong protest against the sales tax in the electricity bills on August 4 in the entire country and if the tax is still not removed, then the businessmen of the entire country will also go on a shutter down strike.
