We will not compromise on the salary issues of journalists across the country: PFUJ Leader Lala Asad Pathan

SUKKUR: A joint General Body session of Sukkur Press Club and Sukkur Union of Journalists was held under the President-ship of Press Club President Chaudhry Mohammad Irshad Gondal and Sukkur Union of Journalists President Imdad Bozdar. Lala Asad Pathan, Finance Secretary of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists took special part in the session. General Secretary of Sukkur Press Club Shahzad Tabani and General Secretary Union Ahkar Rizvi conducted the session. Addressing the session, PFUJ leader Lala Asad Pathan said that the inflation is increasing day by day, but the salaries of journalists are so much less, some organizations are distressing journalists in paying their salaries, PFUJ’s policy is clear in this matter that they will not only raise their voice against such organizations that abuses journalists, but all means of protest will be taken, because a Journalist is a mirror and conveys the problems of the society to the higher authorities but their own problems are not solved by the media owners. He said that the problem of journalist colony will be solved soon; efforts are on to ensure the health and insurance facilities of journalists. Lala Asad Pathan further said that PFUJ always considers a real journalist who does professional journalism according to the principles of journalistic values; we are going to start training sessions to block the path of such people who become a nuisance to the society for no reason. On this occasion, President of Sukkur Press Club Chaudhary Muhammad Irshad and General Secretary Shahzad Tabani said that journalism is an important responsibility; Lala Asad Pathan has highlighted the identity of Sukkur Press Club and journalists not only in Sindh but also throughout Pakistan with his leadership ability. We have given the place, which is the responsibility of journalist friends to maintain, we have tried to provide all possible facilities at Sukkur Press Club to the members like games, play areas, entertainment areas, canteen, health and others. President of Sukkur Union of Journalists Imdad Bozdar and General Secretary Ahkar Rizvi said that we will not tolerate injustice to journalists under any circumstances, where there are problems with journalists, the union will play its role on the front line, similarly to all journalists. It is also expected that they will continue to play their role for social reform and will not be a part of any oppression on the people. The leaders further told that three journalists were arrested yesterday in Kunb area of Khairpur due to the intervention of an influential person, who were immediately released and SHO Manshad Kalwar, who was a part of the abuse, was also suspended. In the session, PFUJ FEC member Javed Jatoi, vice president of Sukkur Press Club Lala Shahbaz Pathan, vice presidents of Sukkur Union of Journalists Khalid Banbhan and Nadir Khan and other officials, President of Court Reporters Association Saleem Soahto, Vice President Shafi Abro, General Secretary and other officials, SAFMA Sukkur Chapter President Salahuddin Qureshi, General Secretary Faisal Arain and other officials and Cameramen Photojournalists Association President Syed Qazafi Shah, General Secretary Bilawal Bhatti and other officials also participated. Senior journalists Asif Zaheer Lodhi, Jameel Mughal, Jalaluddin Bhayo, Riaz Rajput, Qazi Ziaur Rehman and others were present in the session. At the end of the meeting, eight different working committees were also announced to solve the problems of journalists. While Sukkur Press Club and Sukkur Hospital jointly issued health facility cards for the members were also distributed.
